I bought this for my daughter who enjoys drawing and Disney, so I thought this would be perfect for her I thought it would tell about how the Disney animations were produced and some of the women artists behind the scenes Instead, it touches lightly on the actual art that goes into the productions, but focuses on the lives of the artists and how they were empowered women and overcame rough situations to better themselves I m not belittling their stories in any way, but I think the title of this book needs to be changed to reflect that this details the lives of women who worked for Walt Disney, but doesn t necessarily go into the details and the hard work of actually putting together a movie.

Wow is this book beautiful I bought it and Mary Blairs unique flaie as a gift for the little girl I nanny as something to entertain her durring quarantine She loves reading about strong women, she loves Disney, and she is an amazing artist so I thought that this book would be the perfect match and boy was I right The book is broken up in to 1 or 2 pages describing each woman, and then 1 or 2 pages of beautiful illustrations of them and their work It also covers people other than just artists, like the story writer who wrote Snow white, and the woman who danced for the animators so they could figure out how to draw snow white dancing, and the hippos from fantasia I would highly highly recommend this book, and am actually going to buy 2 copies of it, one for myself, and one for my niece.

To be honest, I purchased this book for the artwork by Lorelay Bove What I found in addition to beautiful pieces, is a history behind Disney s female employees From pilots to art chemists, this book is both inspirational and informative I would highly recommend getting this book.
