While admirable that she is standing up to world leaders and addressing climate concerns, Her speeches are repetitive and too negative for me Also, is she practicing what she preaches because from what I can tell she is traveling by carbon emitting transportation while lecturing us on our carbon footprint She also appears to have no solutions besides Listen to the scientists Has she really done anything productive in solving or helping with this issue besides lecturing others and forming marches

I have a lot of respect for this young lady who understands that we have set our earth on a trajectory towards becoming uninhabitable while many leaders are too timid to even attempt the changes that are absolutely necessary and have been necessary for decades I have watched in disbelief over decades during which some of us try everything we can think of to reduce our emissions, most others never even mention the issue, and conditions continue to deteriorate Our leaders are not really leaders they seem only interested in growth at any cost to the natural world, with no awareness that humans are just another animal and extinction is beginning to seem inevitable It s extremely sad I will continue to stand with nature in whatever way I can think of, but I definitely feel outnumbered.

Sadly those who need to read this book won t her writing style is amusing especially once you recognize the echoes to other important speeches The key message we no longer have time for speeches we need to quickly and fundamentally redo our society or we won t have one.

Though many an earth advocate has come before, Greta Thunberg has motivated millions to leave a smaller carbon footprint To care about an environment we are supposed to borrow from our great, great, great grandchildren but leave healthy and intact This short book is not small, but rather hugely extraordinary This young lady has written speeches and delivered them publicly with determination and strength Despite many people over the age of forty hating and despising the information she s giving Information that was given in the 70 s, 80 s, 90 s and the new millennia to generations of closed minded, selfish individuals who refused to be inconvenienced for one minute to ensure equal opportunities for their future generations Greta Thunberg has given fact after fact to those who have the power to legislate change with no intention of follow through I recommend reading this book and checking it against the IPCC s reports We are powerful people in our own right We don t need legislation to instruct us on what changes to make to ensure a rise in temperature above 1.5 C doesn t happen We ve allowed corporations and governments to rob us of our children s inheritance We can take back our approval and disallow them to do further damage.

I m giving this book 5 stars for Greta s story as an inspirational, passionately motivated and principled young person committed to the cause of stopping climate change, but only 3 stars for her analysis.Anyone willing to sail across the Atlantic, call out world leaders and never relent despite taunts, death threats, and public humiliation is brave beyond belief I only wish I had 1 10th the courage at 16 roughly the time that I found out about global warming that Greta has However, climate change and global warming are, like every other predicament humanity has faced, not by any means black and white issues the way she describes them For the record, I also have ASD Asperger Syndrome is, as of 2013, no longer a valid diagnose and I refuse to believe that her way of thinking is explained by such condition.Throughout the past half century, numerous scholars have offered doomsday scenarios and quasi apocalyptic forecasts from overpopulation leading to famine and other catastrophes to the prospect of civilization collapsing after peak oil Thus far, none of these situations have panned out I m not, by any stretch of the imagination, a denialist, nor am I optimistic about the prospect of science and technology being able to solve the situation through sequestration and the development of alternative energy sources But the whole notion as described by Greta that people weren t doing anything about climate change is patently false I remember having these types of conversations back in the early 2000 s as an undergrad right about the time she was born.On the whole, I am appreciative of this book and I m not going to take cheapshots about how trees had to cut down to spread her message I already have far respect for her, Jaime Margolin and their generation than my fellow Millennials However, I am deeply skeptical that this book will do anything than raise awareness mostly amongst people who already agree with her and the global CO2 emissions upwards of 40 Gtons per year will go down in the upcoming decade, so we d better prepare for the worst.

When I saw this book, I did not realize that it was a collection of her speeches but that made the read so much cooler She is a very amazing and outspoken teenager that people should take notice of She brings attention to very important topics for our future I highly recommend this quick read for a good education on the global climate crisis.

Greta Thunberg is a wonder She has traveled the world making speeches, writing, and talking to leaders about climate change and trying to get everyone to understand that this is real and we need to deal with it NOW Greta was only 13 when she took on this challenge and she has continued to protest practices that increase green house gases Greta has inspired many adults and young people like herself We will do well to listen to her message.

This little book is a great tool for the classroom instructor because it can be used as a classroom discussion book.

At least with this written record, future generations will know that some people actually cared, one person specifically, tried to change the world.Greta Thunberg has probably done to raise awareness to the looming climate change crisis than any other single person even Al Gore Her speeches is are concise, fact based, science, data based and hard hitting.

  14. Kindle Customer Kindle Customer says:

This book of essays and speeches really highlights all of what the leaders of our country are not doing They look to their political alliances than to the factual science behind global climate change And that needs to stop For ourselves and future genera, we need to do better We need to stand up and fix what harm has come before And we need to do it now There is no time for arguing or filibustering No time for your trivial bullshiy We need to save our planet because it is the only one we have.

I admire this young girl and all the speeches she has and is still giving trying to call attention to the urgency of our need to act on behalf of our planet I don t want this to sound like a criticism but I tired quickly of the book, it was repetitious That said, her speeches were well written and inspiring.
